The tools that you could previously use to generate a sitemap.xml are depricated in the current 3 versions. How could an alternative look like?

[!DLSitemap? &addWhereList=c.id not in(22,23,25,24)!] and exclude resources you don't want in the sitemap. remove any evo resource links as those are dead entries in the sitemap and google search console complains about them in the google search console interface

Resource type needs to be 'text/xml'
When 'searchable' is deselected it won't gets added to the sitemap.

I could have sworn that DLSitemap was classified as depricated. Now DLStemap is no longer in the list. So my question has become superfluous. Thanks for the posts though. They help me to work more efficiently with DLSitemap.
Maybe someone can put a small ToDo for creating a sitemap.xml in the Docs in this forum. Unfortunately there is nothing in the official docs anymore. Somewhere there was once a small tutorial. Unfortunately I have not saved it.

Its an option to install with DocLister.

Just add [[DLSitemap]] in a blank template and make sure the type of the page is text/xml

If you don't want an page to be added to the xml just uncheck Searchable.

I seem to be having an issue, all the dates show up like "DD MM YYYY", instead of the actual date. The rest of the data displays normal?

Wouldn't know how to solve it but it would help if you tell you EVO version and PHP version. Did you update DLSitemap form extras (DocLister) or DocLister itself?

You can use it like DocLister. So add for example &dateSource=pub_date or &tpl and add [+createdon+] to test.

Sorry, using 1.4.15 and php7.3, but have tried a few php versions and evo versions with no luck.
Not sure where to find doclister updates? I tried https://extras.evo.im and https://github.com/extras-evolution.
The old snippet sitemap (https://github.com/extras-evolution/sitemap) seems to work, so maybe I will just use that instead.

I've just updated DocLister to latest 2.7.0 from github. Are you talking about the "lastmod" date?

http://localhost/country-list.html DD MM YYYY,MM DD YYYY,YYYY MM DD monthly 0.5

I changed Resource type from 'text/xml' to 'application/rss+xml' and the output is displayed like yours from above, but the date still comes out like DD MM YYYY

Sounds like dateFormat. Maybe try:

[[DLSitemap? &dateFormat=`c`]]

I've just tried a different date format and it changed the output.

Now, should this be set to 'text/xml' or 'application/rss+xml'? I see that the format of the output is different depending on which one.
