phpThumb snippet is not compatible with PHP 8.
phpThumb uses the curly brackets method, which deprecated as of PHP 7.4 and incompatible with PHP 8. Do not change you PHP version if you use phpThumb until it gets fixed.
I'm going to setup a demo and test for PHP 8.
Probably allot of plugins etc. also needs to be fixed.
I noticed an updated site to EVO 3 had some issues but don't know about a clean version.
Any news about compatibility with PHP 8 for EVO3?
Still doesn't work it seems, just tested on 3.1.7 and PHP 8.0.12 with a simple call; no output.
<img src="[[phpthumb? &input=`/assets/images/evo-logo.png` &options=`w=480,h=480,zc=1`]]" />
Oke, so it does work when you update phpthumb from Extras.
AFAIK EVO3 works in PHP8 but there might be some Extras which might have some issues.
If I have time left I can make a list of most used plugins and snippets which work or don't work.
